Our first competition of the year finally got underway on Saturday, with 150 players competing for the Centenary Plates. There was some fantastic scoring in wet and windy conditions and congratulations to Dominic Grimes (Division 1) and Craig Rushton (Division 2) who won their respective divisions with 41 points. Below are the top 4 from each division and money has been credited to your Pro Shop accounts: Division 1: Dominic Grimes 41 points (£80), Nathan Halliwell 39 points (£50), Craig Rashleigh 37 points (£40), Mark Cockcroft 37 points (£30). Division 2: Craig Rushton 41 points (£80), Stephen Phillips 37 points (£50), Tom Smith 37 points (£40), Andrew McGuinness 37 points (£30). There were 20 twos on the day which were worth £7.40 each and money has been credited to accounts. It turned out to be a perfect day for Dominic Grimes, who won the nearest pin (£25) and qualified for the end of season shootout! This week we are looking forward to the Captain's Drive-In for Alan Runciman. I'm sure you will all join me in wishing Alan all the best for the year ahead in what has been an interrupted start to the season. When you sign in on Saturday there will be a £1 sweep towards the Captain's charity in guessing the yardage of the Captain's first tee shot. Good luck Alan! Finally, a reminder that the tee sheet goes live on Friday at 7am to sign-up for the President's Prize qualifier on Saturday 20th June, where the top 32 players will go into the knockout phases of the competition. |
